[The reclusive owner of a skyscraper in the heart of the city; he's sometimes seen hosting parties at the champagne lounge at the top, but no one remembers the last time he actually left the building. He even lives in the penthouse.]

[ this is not a dance a lord should be performing with his servant. it is also a dance that would undoubtedly be frowned upon were it in public— but it is not. it's just ciel and sebastian practicing this waltz, and sebastian relying on the fact that ciel is completely clueless about dance, for the most part, aside from what sebastian teaches him.

dancing like they are now is only step one. ciel is in one of his "normal" outfits, dutifully picked out and put together by sebastian. their practice is all going toward a request from the queen, a mission, and will require going undercover.

ciel, of course, will be playing the part of a proper young lady, and sebastian his escort. ah— her escort.

ciel's movements still aren't perfect, but there's only a few days to prep for this, and he won't be dancing in an outfit fit for a lord of thirteen, but for a lady. sebastian has decided it's time to move onto learning in the dress ciel will be wearing.

for this interlude, sebastian has refused to let ciel out of his sight, lest he try to run (and in vain, at that...). it's not very appropriate to dress ciel in the ballroom, but the rest of the servants have been tasked with things that busy them in town, so it's ultimately what happens.

as usual, ciel is huffy and irritated at having to dance, and if ciel really does hate this... well, he knows how to distract sebastian. they've been through many "distractions" at this point.

sebastian remains focused on dressing ciel, a dainty ankle in his wrist and leg at his knee as he focuses on carefully working ciel's stockings on. ]

Your skirts, if you would. [ lift them, that is. ciel whines the most about the corset and dress, so sebastian had gotten them out of the way first. ]

[ Attending this gala hadn't been on Eirene's schedule when she'd planned her trip to this foreign city; the invite delivered at the hotel had been a pleasant surprise. And the gala did not disappoint. It's been a fruitful couple of hours mingling with business leaders and politically significant names in the city, getting the name of Quinn Corporation known beyond the borders of home.

She's accomplished enough that she could call it an evening and head back to rest, but. There's a name - Miyama - that Eirene has heard on too many lips with no face to match.

Another half hour. Eirene can spare that much time to waste if her wait proves fruitless.

She drifts away from the cocktail tables, closer to the dance floor. Oh? A teenager? A child or grandchild of one of tonight's guests, likely. ]

Waiting for company? [ From the small lift of her shoulder, it's evident that her words refer to the dance floor. ]

[ bones is far too pragmatic to be romantic and most of the time, it just never occurs to him. he's always been straight forward and blunt and that leaves very little room for romance to blossom. that doesn't mean he's dismissive or that he doesn't try, just that... he needs to be reminded.

sometimes though. sometimes he gets to it in his own time. everything with jim is so new and yet so familiar. not much changed while everything changed. maybe bones spends a night in jim's quarters when he's not on call or maybe jim's in his room. it's hard to find time outside of the basics for each other. it doesn't help that they're both workaholics. one day bones gets sick of it.

it's hard but not impossible to find a block of time where they're both completely unavailable. it's no different than the times they'd sit and drink but this time bones gets to hold jim. he gets to mumble gently in his ear all the things he'd normally say across a table. ]

Think we can manage to get something to eat before we're needed? [ bones asks quietly, shifting a little on the couch they're sitting on. ]
