april texting.

TEXTING MEME

You’ve got your TFLN, you’ve got your sexting, now here’s the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. (Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.)

instructions: What it says on the tin! Leave a comment with your character, include preferences, a start, absolutely nothing or whatever you want. Run around and reply to others. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Is that what delinquents do?

That would explain why there was someone in one of them. I assumed that they were hiding from something, or preparing to ambush someone, so I pushed them back in and shut it.

[ And now that Haruaki mentions it, Dazai is a deliquent, so... ]

You should avoid them at all costs.

Thank you, Dazai-kun! You saved my life!!!

If a delinquent shoved me in a locker, I would probably just stay in there until I died and became a ghost... and even then I'd still be too ashamed to leave...

You think it was? Maybe I shouldn't have disturbed them. They must be even more ashamed now.

I mean, talk about embarrassing, right? But at least now they know that they're not safe inside of it.

It probably wasn't, but I'm going to pretend it was! A ghost is less scary than a delinquent.

Dazai-kun is so fearless~

What's it like to not be scared of anything?

What if it's the malevolent spirit of a delinquent? Is that more or less scary than a normal one.

It's not bad. I've never had any real fear, but I imagine it'd be liberating for a normal person. You get bullied less too.

Haunted houses aren't as much fun though.

DAZAI, ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE HIM CRY?

You get bullied less, huh....

I want to know what that kind of life is like.....

Do you?

Well, that should be easy enough. We just have to help you overcome your fear of delinquents.

You just have to become a bigger, scarier, more brutal bully.

You're a bit old to make a single mistake that causes you to be transferred to a school meant for them, but I'm sure we can find a suitable place for you. The first thing you do is find the leader and stare him down until he breaks.

Remember, Haruaki-san, it's better to be feared than loved.

[ ... ]

You should probably bring someone that's about at my level of delinquency with you when you do it though.

[ All this hypothetical talk of overcoming his fear of delinquents is suddenly cast from his mind as he reads that one reminder, again and again.

It doesn't sit right.
]

Is that something you really believe?

That it's better to be feared than loved, I mean.

[ Aha... That offhanded remark would be what gets latched onto. But as ever, a serious question is rewarded with a serious answer: ]

It depends on who it is. Your enemies should fear you. Your friends should love you. How your allies should carve up their emotions depends on your position.

Nothing about humans can be reduced to one single emotion.

Hmm... I guess that's true, but...

I don't see the point in having enemies. It's better to prove to people that we can work together, isn't it?

I agree. If possible, it's better to work together and have a symbiotic relationship.

Is it wrong to have a belief that you feel so strongly about that you're willing to fight and die for it though? That willingness to have a belief that can't coexist with another? There are people who have one thing they want to protect no matter what, too, so anything that threatens it has to be disposed of.

That's what makes humans what they are, isn't it? Humans love more than any other species. They cooperate more than any other species. That's why their fights are so important.

You say some interesting things, Dazai-kun!

I don't think humans love more than any other species, though. That would rule out almost everyone I know, and they love and cooperate and fight just as much.
