dance with me

the dance with me meme

Everyone loves to dance: ballroom dancing, slow dancing, doing the hokey-pokey, or ripping people to shreds in competitions for grand prize money and bragging rights. Dance can be serious, ceremonial, fun, done randomly, socially awkward, or just sheer random. Of the thousands of styles available, of all the people you could dance with, what and who do you pick? Do you even know how to dance? Best just turn on the music and dive in.

directions

1. Comment with your character, series, preferences, etc in the subject.
2. Reply to other comments. You're now dancing with them!
3. Play that funky music

[Sounds perfect to me! He's no spy, but something about that face just makes people wanna spill their info, very useful for his favorite detective!]

[ ooc: lmk if something doesn't work for you! ]

[ neve had asked rook to meet her in the kitchen today for a lesson in the ways of tevinter. there was a soiree coming up in the next few days that neve was planning to attend — she'd already sent a positive response to her invitation; the rub came with the required plus 1, but that was where rook came in.

she'd asked him to accompany her for several reasons.
1) because she was beginning to trust him, as frightening a proposition as that was.
2) because he had a charm about him that got info out of the most unlikely places.
3) because this is tevinter and a lot of altus will speak to someone they think is a slave, someone they don't view as "person" enough to worry about what they say.

she hates it, but it's the truth, and she'd told rook as much when she made the request. but now she has to teach rook how to dance, tevinter-style.

so, here she is with some coffee on the table — and tea, if that's what he prefers — and she offers a soft smile as he pushes open the doors to the kitchen. lucanis is in treviso for the day, so they have the place to themselves. he had sneakily left coffee for her before he had left; she makes a mental note to thank him when he returns. ]

Thanks for agreeing to this, Rook. I know it isn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but if I can get this relic off the streets, all of Minrathous will be better off for it.

[ooc: Looks good to me! Also I'm atomic_kiwi on discord come bug me so we can yell about our blorbos 83c]

[Naturally, Rook accepted the offer. It wasn't his scene, it wasn't his wheelhouse, but that had never stopped him from haring off to help a friend before, why would it stop him now? And for all they were brought together for a reason, for all Neve might still be uncertain about him in some way, he wasn't nearly as cagey about her. As far as he was concerned, she was smart, capable, and while maybe a bit sharp and stand-offish at first, he could understand why. And besides that, underneath she definitely had a good heart. As far as he was concerned, they were friends and he trusted her.

So no matter how uncomfortable the altus at the party might make him with their comments and assumptions, he was happy to come with her to help. Which was what had him giving her a grin as he slipped into the room, pulled ever so subtly crooked by the scar chipping his lip. He'd even gone and retrieved his boots from where they effectively lived in the Eluvian room when he wasn't out in Thedas at large, looking ever so subtly uneasy on his feet in them. It had become a running joke really, that anytime he donned the things, the sure-footed elf looked almost unstable, like he was about to trip over his own two feet.

But this was a nice party, so he couldn't just run around barefoot. More's the pity.]

You know I'm glad to help, Neve. [The door swung shut behind him as he crossed the room to join her, interest perking slightly at the smell of coffee. Did he know the various types? No, much to Lucanis' infinite dismay, but he was just as happy with over-brewed campfire swill as he was the Crow's carefully selected brews.] Maybe if we foil enough of these plots it might sink in that Dock Town isn't the easy pickings they're assuming.
