She's the youngest State Alchemist in history. Her teacher emphasized mind/body harmony through martial arts. She's usually accompanied by a little brother occupying a giant piece of full-body armor. She's a threat, damn it, which is probably why the kidnapping bastard cowards manage to slip something into her drink while she's out picking up lunch.
By the time she's awake enough to fight, both pieces of automail have been removed and her remaining arm's been uncomfortably wrenched behind her back and tied in place there to make it even harder to do fucking anything. About the only upside she can think of is that whoever took off her automail must've known what they were doing because the ports don't feel or look damaged.
As best she can tell, they're trying to use her for a prisoner exchange, which is stupid because she doesn't think the brass is open to negotiation and frankly she doesn't know for sure how much she's worth to the Amestrian military. But no one asked her, and when she does helpfully provide her input (okay, swearing, it's mostly swearing; in her defense, they let slip that they thought she was the ideal prisoner because she's so young and little), she gets kicked in the ribs a few times and forced to drink some more drugged water. So things get pretty fuzzy after that. To her credit, she manages to avoid swallowing enough that she's not quite knocked out again, but she still feels unbelievably weak and out of it, so they still get their compliant hostage.
Nothing happens that's interesting enough to drag her out of her stupor until they hear something that sounds like an explosion in the near-distance. The couple men who were assigned to make sure she didn't manage to escape run to the nearest window and start talking about a fire out there, and the corners of Ed's lips turn up into a nasty little smile. "'s prob'ly my colonel," she says, just loud enough for them to hear. "Mighta heard'f him. Th'hero of Ishval. You sh'ld run."
They don't run. One of them even discusses the possibility of using her as a shield, which sounds like a pain in the ass for everyone involved, but once again, no one's taking her opinions into account.
